HomePhysical Therapy
Physical therapy develops a child’s movement and mobility skills to promote the highest level of functional independence. Balance, coordination, strength, endurance and flexibility are addressed to enhance each child’s ability to interact safely and optimally within varied settings and with peers. Physical therapists are also involved in helping children who have equipment and/or orthotic needs for mobility, positioning and postural concerns.
Evaluation
The physical therapist performs an evaluation utilizing standardized assessments, structure/unstructured clinical observations and parent/client interviews to determine the individual needs of each child.
Treatment
Treatment addresses the specific needs of the child based on evaluation findings and concerns of the family. Treatment plans include activities to promote acquisition of goals/skills and home exercise programs for carryover of skills into natural environments to achieve positive functional interactions.
